We are so excited to finally introduce you to our assistant, Callie! Callie has been with Dentistry for Children almost three years and it’s about time we showcase her here. She graduated with her Dental Assisting degree from St. Cloud Technical College in 2020, and immediately joined our team. Callie took on her new role in stride; jumping on board during the pandemic certainly presented its challenges, as it did for all of us. Learning a new role and making connections with children, while wearing masks is certainly not easy. However, Callie was quick to show us that nothing could stop her ability to connect with children.
She has a calming presence, which translates well to working with children. She is compassionate, kind, and perhaps one of our favorite qualities, quick-witted! Her humor is well-timed and keeps us all laughing. All of these qualities rolled into one make her an ideal assistant working with children. It takes no time in watching Callie interact with our patients to quickly see that she has a nurturing personality and an ability to connect with kids.
Callie always knew that she wanted to work with children in some capacity. What drew her to pediatrics is her genuine love of children and the ability to support children with special needs. Prior to receiving her dental assisting license, Callie worked as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for a child with Autism. In her role she assisted the child with daily tasks and worked on social skills together. In addition to her role as a PCA, she also has experience working with adults with special needs. Callie’s mother currently fosters two adults with special needs and for the last five years Callie has assisted her mother in caring for the two adults living with them.
Outside of Dentistry for Children, Callie helps her mother’s company, Sota Frenchies, breed French Bulldogs. Her kind and nurturing heart extends into her role as the proud owner of her French Bulldog, Coco who recently had 5 puppies! When she’s not busy at Dentistry for Children you will likely find Callie spending quality time with her family and friends.
