Meet Isabel, Our Dental Assistant

When thinking of someone who works with children and what qualities make them best suited for the job, Isabel has them all! She is patient, caring, kind-hearted, a good listener, and so much more! Dentistry for Children is so fortunate to have Isabel for both her expertise chairside and her endearing personality.

Isabel came to Dentistry for Children in 2016 after graduating with her Dental Assisting degree from St. Cloud Technical Community College. Isabel always wanted to be in the area of pediatrics, “It’s so fun to see the children grow up.” She mentions that pediatric dentistry offers a unique opportunity of seeing the children every 6 months for routine cleanings, “so you really get to know them well and watch them grow.” Having that perspective is one thing that truly makes Isabel an amazing assistant; she is focused on their long-term growth and care.

Isabel’s ability to connect with each patient is another valuable attribute she brings to the practice. She sees herself as an assistant to not just the doctor, but to the patient as well. She wants to make sure each visit is comfortable and an experience where kids are eager to return for their next visit.

In addition to making Dentistry for Children a comfortable space, Isabel also  likes to “keep it fun.” She enjoys rewarding the patients with fun prizes at the completion of their visit and is always looking for new ways to thank them for their great attitude and efforts in the dental chair.

Outside of the relationships and rapport that Isabel builds with our patients, she is a wonderful resource to our Spanish speaking patient base; she is fluent in Spanish. Isabel was born in Colima, Mexico and lived there during her early childhood. At the age of 7, Isabel’s family moved to North Carolina where Isabel lived until moving to St. Cloud, Minnesota at the age of 16.

Isabel and her partner, Tony, have two daughters, Kristen and Yuli, and an adorable puppy, Milo. When Isabel is not in the office you will likely find her spending time with her family and shopping for home décor. She loves to spend her summers swimming at the lake, hosting family cookouts on the weekends, and attending as many local festivals as she can.
