Regular Exams and Cleanings

During your child’s regular dental exam, we will check for any issues in the mouth. This includes looking for cavities or any signs of tooth decay or damage. We’ll inspect the gums for gingivitis and signs of periodontal disease. After the exam, we’ll clean, polish, and rinse the teeth.

Panoramic Radiograph

We do a panoramic radiograph each year to evaluate the growth and development of your child’s jaw and teeth. This is a dental x-ray of the upper and lower part of the jaw showing a two-dimensional view.

Fluoride

Our silver diamine fluoride helps prevent tooth decay and cavities. We’ll do a fluoride treatment to extensively clean the surface of your child’s teeth.

Sealants

Sealants allow your child to have extra protection against cavities and tooth decay. The plastic resident hardens and bonds into the deep grooves of the surface of teeth.

Fillings

Composite fillings offer an esthetically pleasing, mercury-free option for your teeth. They are the same color as your natural teeth and easily adhere to the tooth’s surface.

Crowns

We offer dental caps that easily encircle your teeth. This may be needed when you have a cavity that threatens the tooth’s health.

Tooth Extractions

Sometimes teeth need to be extracted when the permanent tooth is coming in behind a baby tooth, the baby tooth has misshapen, or the tooth is decayed. We’ll expand the tooth socket, extract the tooth, and quickly finish the procedure using a mild sedative if needed.

Nitrous Oxide

We’ll use nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas if needed during procedures. It’s a safe and effective way to perform services without pain.

Mouthguards

We offer custom-fit mouthguards to help protect your children’s teeth and gums from injuries. Choosing the best type of mouthguard that fits your child while playing sports starts with an impression of the mouth so that we can provide the perfect fit.

Nightguards

Our custom-made nightguards are a great, non-invasive treatment for clenching or grinding teeth. Many children do these things when sleeping, and they can lead to cracked or broken teeth.

Orthodontics

We offer limited orthodontics, including six-month braces, removable and permanent retainers.

Treatment Under General Anesthesia

We use general anesthesia to keep your child comfortable and safe during some dental procedures. If a service is complicated or extensive, we’ll administer the anesthesia to allow them to sleep peacefully through it. We have operating room privileges at St. Cloud Surgical Center, CentraCare Plaza Surgery Center, and St. Cloud Hospital Center for Surgical Care.
